50th Anniversary

Our Golden Jubilee

The Cathedral Council was established on April 26, 1976 to serve the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More. For the past 50 years, we’ve empowered our brothers to live our faith at home, in our parish, and in our community.

While members come and go, the Knights endure. Our mission is generational: today’s Council boasts the son of a founding member (E.C. Finney), lifetime Arlingtonians, and newcomers who have made Arlington their home. All work with their brother knights to exemplify our faith and advance our principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.

As we go forward into the next 50 years of stalwart service, we pause to remember those who came before us and steel ourselves to continue advancing the mission given us by the blessed Father McGivney in 1882 to provide financial support to widows and orphans and to strengthen Catholic men’s faith through charity and unity.

Become a Part of the Legacy

Please join us in April 2026 for a banquet celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Cathedral Council #6790. All are welcome.

If you are a Catholic man in communion with the Holy See, please consider joining us.

If you or someone you know were a member of the Cathedral Council, we want to hear from you! Photographs, mementos, oral or written histories would all be appreciated as we prepare for our Golden Jubilee. Please reach out to gk@cathedralcouncil.org.
